Taena was nominated as Graduate of the Year at RMIT, where she received an honourable mention, and a Certificate of Excellence for her achievements overall. In her final year of studies Taena participated in the RMIT mentor program, working with beautiful room alongside Maree. Taena proved herself, prompting an invitation to join the company in 2009.

 

In her current role as Design Assistant Taena works closely with Maree on every project, assisting in the development of innovative design schemes and concepts. “I love an interior that tells a story, so the start of a project involves lots of research and drawing inspiration [from the client to find out] what they love and what they value…ultimately, the client is truly happy when a room is complete, filled with the things they love and it is an expression of who they are.”

 

Her desire to retain, reuse and reinvent, combined with a light hearted touch adds an element of surprise to Taena’s work. “I love lots of things... there’s always an element of fun, mixed with a bit of an edge.”
